Fall 2018/Spring 2019 Programming

The Junior Stage (Grades 2-4)

The Junior Stage participants broaden their social and developmental skills through a focus on team work, while building selfconfidence through performance and exploring their imaginations. They will learn how to creatively problem solve with their peers, and how to confidently contribute their own ideas through the introduction of storytelling, improvisation, role-playing, scripted work, pantomime, voice and movement.

The Intermediate Stage (Grades 5-8)

The Intermediate Stage participants will dive further into the fundamentals of theatre, learning how to create honest and genuine characters through improvisation, memorization, and personal experience, all the while honing the unique talents of individual participants to become confident and courageous actors. This program focuses on the development of trust and collaboration within the group, and the fuelling of spontaneity, and creativity. (No prerequisite required).

The Next Stage (Grades 9-12)

The Next Stage is an advanced program for those ready to take acting to the next level. This program focuses on intensive acting techniques and various disciplines of theatre. Participants will have the opportunity to build on their current skill base and explore new challenges and methodologies.

T.O.E.P. (Grades 6-12 and Adult)

Theatre Orangeville Exceptional Players (T.O.E.P.) is a skills-based theatre program using theatre games, music and improv for youth with developmental disabilities. T.O.E.P. participants are encouraged and supported to reach beyond and develop not just theatrical skills, but self-confidence, teamwork skills, and new methods of self expression. Thank you to Kerry's Place Autism Services and Dufferin Child and Family Services for their continued support of this incredible program.

The Academy Showcase

The Academy Showcase is a collaborative performance that happens at the end of the Fall and Spring terms and includes performances from T.O.E.P., and the Junior, Intermediate and Next Stage classes. It is held at the Town Hall Opera House and tickets are $8. Proceeds fund future Academy programming.
